Jon Randall

Jon Randall first came to my attention, as a member of Emmylou Harris' Nash Ramblers, and over the years he has been a fairly regular visitor to the UK. He came over as support for Mary Chapin Carpenter and to support his 1995 album "What You Don't Know".

He became a victim of the upheaval at Asylum Records in 1998, and his album "Cold Coffee Morning" never got a release, despite considerable airplay of the single "She Don't Believe In Fairytales".

2000, however, saw Jon sign a deal with Eminent records, and his album of unreleased tracks, entitled "Willin'" was issued by Grapevine in the UK. Having been booked to support Kathy Mattea on her abortive European tour, Jon finally returned to British theatres, as the opening act on Lonestar's successful tour.

He came in to see us at Ritz 1035, and I was finally able to record that interview !
